New Fiber Route from Norway to Continental Europe Opened by Arelion

Arelion, formerly known as Telia Carrier, has announced the completion of its newest network backbone route expansion in Norway. This new fibre link aims to improve the resilience, capacity, and diversity of links between Norway and the rest of the world via Continental Europe.

The Norwegian Communications Authority has awarded Arelion a contract to create a new subterranean Internet route for Norway in July 2020. The project's goal was to strengthen resilience in the event of a catastrophic disaster impacting connectivity, as well as to ensure that all of the region's future connectivity demands were met.
